More Confessions...

Hello, my name is Timberley and I'm a enabler. This is Atticus and he knows it.

My confession: I like having Atticus on the bed with me. When Daniel leaves, Atti jumps on the bed and it's nice! He's warm! While I'm in the shower, he jumps on the bed again. I gave him an inch...

During the night he has started waking me up by whining at my head. In my exhaustion I tell him to get on the bed. He sleeps the rest of the night curled up in our way. :) But he's quiet!

He's taking a mile. And I don't even care. I'm concerned about my parenting skills.

Side note: they come tomorrow. The Crew. All of them. Yikes!

Back in the Saddle Again.....

And so it starts. The every day until the end of March. The needy, fussy crew. The dirt! The Rodeo. And I'm already exhausted. :) It's going to be a long one!

As I face the 2010 Rodeo I keep thinking this might be my last and I get a little sad. There are LOTS of stuff I won't miss ONE BIT but there are things I will. I'll miss my boss, James. We've been together for a long time now and we have a lot of fun! I've grown attached to his family; his son and I have huge Llama plans! I know his Starbucks order. I can read his moods. He's patient with my tardiness and never fusses when I ask questions. And I ask A LOT of questions! I'll miss our Editor Gary. I've been with him a long time too! We stress together, we laugh together, we have the same sense of humor. I'm his Muse! :) I'll miss that. I have no clue what those boys will do without me! ;) I will miss a handful of fellow crew members who bring me joy on a daily basis for one month out of the year.

I thought I was ready to leave.

Maybe I'm not.

Grrrrrrr.....

Did someone say "Triple Lutz"?!

The Winter Olympics are opening tonight and I'm so excited! (I know, I'm such a NERD!) I love Figure Skating. I love the costumes and the music and the crazy jumps! I just love it.

I went through phases as a child. When Christmas time came around and The Nutcracker was on TV I could be found twirling through our living room as my inner Ballerina broke free. And when the Winter Olympics came on and the figure skaters took to the ice so did I. I would slip on my skates (the bright yellow roller skates with red wheels that fit over your shoes) and practice my Triple Lutz through the living room. God bless my mother who never once complained about my shenanigans on her carpet, she never once stifled my creativity. :) She's a good Momma.

No matter the amount of imagination I have, I could never be an Olympian. I lack the passion, self discipline and dedication required. These athletes are committed! I'm a softy! I end up routing for the countries that only bring one proud athlete. I want them to bring home the gold! If I ran the Olympics, there would be a LOT of Gold Medals. :)

And every time I watch the Opening Ceremonies I realize how much I didn't retain from my World Geography classes. I might be dumb.

I might be a "grown up" but I still practice my Triple Lutz through our living room (minus the skates). Daniel just shakes his head. :) I'm not sure my beloved is as thrilled as I am about the possibility of catching every single figure skating competition on TV for the next 17 days.

Until next time...

The Wonderful World Wide Web

I'm an internet junkie. I love it. I spend HOURS clicking around. I'm also a creature of habit so I visit the same sites a lot. Here are some of my most favorite websites.

I'm a recipe girl. I will edit a recipe to fit my taste but I have to have somewhere to start. I can't come up with stuff on my own. I found All Recipes several years ago and I LOVE it. It lets you search for recipes by ingredients, adjust the recipe to fit the size of group you're feeding and my favorite - let's people rate the recipe. It makes me nervous to try a new recipe that I have no feedback on, what if it's nasty?! All Recipes lets people rate the recipe and suggest changes. You can save recipes to your "recipe box" so you can come back to it. It's fantastic!

I love reading! And I love talking about books I love. I have a HORRIBLE habit of looking for spoilers and I've been known to 'accidentally' glance at the last page of a book before I start it. (Horrible, I know!) I found Good Reads when I was impatiently waiting for my book to arrive at the library, I NEEDED to know how my friends were!! This website is a neat little community of readers who share their reviews and ideas of the books I love. It's fabulous! I have my little "Book Friends" that love the same characters I love and are just as worried about them as I am. (I might need a support group) If you love books - check Good Reads out!

I think online shopping is the best thing EVER. And I LOVE Amazon.com. You can find everything and it's brilliant. People get to review the items here as well which I think is FANTASTIC! I love knowing about something before I buy it. AND the gifts come to YOU!! You don't have to wait in line, find a place to park, deal with PEOPLE!! They come to your front door!! Brilliant!

I think movie previews are fabulous, so much so that if I get to a movie late (which Daniel and I often do because he feels showing up at the start time is sufficient, grrrr) and I miss the previews, I'm unbearable. That is why I LOVE this site. The only down side I can find is that I'm no longer surprised when I do go to the movies; chances are I've seen the preview already. But it's worth it!! It's a website DEDICATED to movie previews! How can that be a bad thing?!

My boss turned me on to Woot! and it's fun! They sell one thing all day at a discounted price until it's gone. It's like a race! They sell everything from ear muffs to HD TV's and I need it all! :) I actually haven't bought anything from them yet but one day I'll break Daniel down and he'll say yes. :) My boss buys stuff regularly and he always had good experiences.

So there you go. Click away!! :)
