With a Sheep - Week 20

Little Bitty is 36 weeks old!! We've had a better week and our routine seems to be intact. She's learning something new every day. Lately its been sounds that entertain her. She's learned to scratch on the wall when she's near it. It's only mildly creepy to hear in the middle of the night. ;) I was reading the other day and she started to scratch on the book cover. It's fun to watch her explore.

She's also been way more entertained by her feet these past few weeks. They are just SO MUCH FUN! And her thumb must taste delicious as well because it's always in her mouth.

She has also learned how to drop her toys with purpose. She will look at me, smile and drop a toy. Then she stares at it and squeals loudly. No matter how many times I tell her she's lost the toy because she needs to understand consequences - she still tosses them to the floor. Silly baby. ;)

My Mamaw found her a small 'smart phone' that she can fit in her mouth. She LOVES it. It has buttons that make noise and was apparently made in China because the phone has a heavy Asian accent. I'm pretty sure her first words are now going to be "Infomation, can I help you?" done in an Asian accent. At least it won't need to be bleeped out. ;)

I'm going to eventually have to post about the adventures of Sheep days so you can better understand the process. It's quite entertaining for the dog. I get a lot of pictures like this....

Today's outfit says Daddy's Little Ray of Sunshine and the socks have rattles on them. My Beloved loves socks with rattles on them - it's so cute. ;)

The other day my Beloved came home to a hot mess of a wife. We'd had a long day and I'm sure my hair was standing on edge and I had the crazy eyes going. She was sitting on his lap and I was fussing at her for something and she started laughing. Laughing! This made my Beloved laugh. Yes - the hotter the mess the Momma is - the more entertaining she becomes to the Babe.  Yeesh.

A friend posted a link to this blog post and I thought I would share. While I might occasionally question our decision for me to stay home with her, I don't think I'll ever regret it. These are moments I won't ever get back. Even the bad ones.

Until next time.....

Hot Mess Thursday

Thankfully no mug shot was required.

Today was a jammie day which means we stay in our jammies as long as we can. Today this lasted until about 9:30am when Little Bitty threw up on us. So she got clothes and I opted for a shower and lounge clothes. But I did stick with no make up and pinned back hair!

She's a particular child who loves a clean diaper. And she's a contrary child that will wait until she has a clean diaper to fill it up again. This usually takes anywhere between 10 - 15 minutes.

Today it took 3.
"The Momma JUST changed my diaper so to reward her, I POOPED!!"
And she wasn't one bit ashamed.

It was all fun and games until the baby knocked over the Momma's Dr. Pepper. Then things got real.

I had two errands to run that didn't require me getting out of the car so we loaded up.
"I spilled the Momma's Dr. Pepper so she's returning me to the Library! Yay!"
Only as I was leaving I couldn't find the dog.....until I found him locked in the laundry room.....
He did this to himself.

I go to get in the car and the dog jumps in too. Fine. We'll all go!
She talked to the dog the ENTIRE time. Again - he did this to himself.
And I left the house just like this - yep, I have no shame. I am officially THAT mom. The entire time I'm hopeful for no event that will require me to exit my vehicle or one involving a mug shot.
My whole goal for this adventure is to avoid having to get out of the car. I get to the post office and as I'm pushing the letters in to the mailbox - they almost hit the ground. Karma is determined to get me out of the car.

So I finished my errands and headed home with a shaking dog and squealing baby.

I get about a mile from the house and look down at the dash....
EEEEEEEE!!!!!
This entertains my mom who is now trying to figure out how to get to google maps so she can capture the footage of me pumping gas in my jammies with a frantic dog and a screaming baby.

Tosh.0  - here we come!

Instead I cross my fingers and toes like a grown up and hope we have enough gas to get home.

And we did!

(Note to the Beloved - before our weekend outing, we need gas in the car. :) )

Now we're home safe and sound. No mug shots required.

Thank goodness.

Until next time....

Hey June, I got this!

I took a month off of photo challenges. It was a nice break.

Now the new June list has been posted and I'm back in the game!

So Mamaw - hang in there. Starting June 1st - the pictures will be back! ;)

Until then......

New Adventures

I've dabbled in event planning for a few years. When I went to work full time, it went on the back burner.

Now that I have some time I've decided to give it a go again. I love weddings. I love the organized chaos. I love the drama and the dresses. And CAKE! ;)

I've had a website that was never finished so when I decided that this was something I wanted to pursue again, I called my friend over at Red Pup Media to work on it. And after almost 7 years of waiting - they made it perfect in a matter of a few weeks.

Thanks Red Pup!

So the adventure begins! If you know someone getting married - pass us along!

ELGDream Events is back in action!

With a Sheep - Week 19

Seriously, the cuteness.

We've had an up and down kind of week. Little Bitty has developed a bit of a temper. She was talking to the dog the other day when he decided to leave the room. This caused a complete tantrum with screaming and kicking.....already. Oh joy.

She did get to meet a very nice doctor who had something funny growing from his face.
"What's that on your face?"

While this picture didn't make the Sheep cut (Aunt Tami helps decide on the picture) I wanted to include it because it shows how long she's getting. It's hard to remember she fit in one hand.

Our girl is 35 weeks and growing like a weed.

Seats for the Sweet

I've mentioned her High Chair before and we still love it. She usually prefers chewing on her straps to what ever it is we're trying to feed her.

She's still not sitting on her own and people keep telling me to get a Bumbo. I just couldn't justify spending the money on something she wasn't going to need for a very long. But the box wasn't working so mom and I headed to the store.

We looked at the Bumbo but then we saw this one. It was only about $10 more but it came with the tray! You have to buy the Bumbo tray separately. And for this one, the insert can be removed and you can use it as a booster once she's older. SCORE!

And she seems to like it!

We've also had a walker for her to stand in. We keep a pillow under her feet so she doesn't strain - she doesn't touch the floor yet even on the shortest setting. She loves it too!

This is my view from the couch.
We have toys tied to it so they don't get dirty when she pushes them off and she giggles at the attached rattle toy. However on the front of the walker is a frog and she wants SO BAD to put that frog in her mouth. I find her all the time pulling with all her strength on the frog with her mouth opened like "almost!" only it won't budge. This doesn't impress her.

Look at that lip! We're in trouble.

Such a Mean Momma

We love our dog. Even though I threaten to sell him to the gypsies every day - we still love him.

He spends a majority of his time on the futon in the front room protecting his people from threats like the mail person (EVERY. DAY.) or the garbage men or the across the street neighbor when he's getting in to HIS OWN VEHICLE.

He is a good dog and doesn't bark all the time however when he does bark - it's a scene. I'd managed to just get Alice to sleep and she was sleeping on her own on the bed. VICTORY!

Until someone walked down the street.

Then the dog decided to protect us the only way he knows how - by barking like a crazy dog and throwing himself on the front window.

And woke the baby who wouldn't go back to sleep and cried for another hour.

Momma wasn't happy.

This is what happens when you bark and wake the baby. You lose your front room privileges.

Now he's lost. He just sits by the front door like "how will I see the intruder?"

Yeesh.

Until next time...

Stupid Blocks

Since she's a bit more mobile, I thought it would be a good idea to get something for our living room floor to keep her from hitting her head. Walmart had a few different options - Dora, Princess games, Cars and ABC's. We decided to get ABC's and be educational.

So far they've just upset my OCDness.

First off - they don't package them in alphabetical order. I mean, come on!

So I just put them together ignoring the order in order to get them to her faster.

Only there's 26 and there is no way to connect them and make it even unless you do two rows of two. I don't need an aisle runner. I need a play surface.

None of this seems to bother her.

When my Beloved got home I told him my issues. He already knows I'm crazy so this didn't really come as a surprise. We laid them out in alphabetical order so the placement isn't even. Seriously - they couldn't include 4 shapes blocks maybe?! Triangle, circle, square, star - BAM!! EVEN!! But no. They needed to make the crazies crazier.

I'm PRETENDING they did it on purpose to account for my ottoman. Yeah, yeah - let's go with that.

When in alphabetical order the color pattern is soothing.....except for R. The R is off. Seriously!?

Lord help me.

We should have bought the princess one.

With a Sheep - Week 18

Our girl is getting so big. She's learning and exploring every day. This week she rolled! A few weeks ago she HATED Tummy Time. It was the worst thing ever! Now when you lay her on her back - she immediately flips over. Laying on your back is for babies. ;)

She's attempting to move around. Right now she pulls herself around in circles and kicks and kicks.

She LOVES the dog. She will smile and laugh as soon as she sees him. And he's doing so well with her. They were sitting on the couch the other day and she was just kicking and kicking him (she does this when she's excited). And he just sat there. He eventually looked at me like 'ummm.....now it kicks?!' but he never moved.

She's 34 weeks now and I have a feeling these next few weeks are going to bring big changes.

Slow down little one!

Today's outfit is from Uncle Travis and worn to celebrate his return from college!! We are so proud of him. The socks came from Aunt Monica and are extremely girly. EEEK!!! ;)

Until next time....

She Rolls!!

She rolled from back to tummy yesterday! She's been trying for a few weeks but couldn't figure out where to put her arms. I was folding towels in her room and she was getting pretty close! I told her if she rolled over while I was putting towels away in the other room she would be grounded until she was 30. Luckily she was still on her back when I got back.

But she eventually rolled!! This is the fourth roll because it took me forever to get the camera going. It's a little labored because her crazy momma kept flipping her back to her back to start over. Crazy Momma.

The video is chopped up because I had to cut a lot to email it. And I wanted to wait to post it after my Beloved got to see it.

Later I put her on her back on her play pad and before I knew it - this is how I found her...

She's not quite crawling yet but can scoot really easy on the laminate flooring. We will be in big trouble very, very soon.....

She rolled over for the first time and I was here to see it. That brings me joy.

The Girl likes her technology

Alice loves things that light up and she wants nothing more then to chew on your phone. You light up a phone in front of her and you have her attention!

Aunt Tami was holding her and texting and Little Bitty reached behind her head for the phone.
I was trying to talk to mom on the house phone and she decided she needed that one too.
Seriously.

And she loves the TV and the remote as well. She doesn't know what the remote does but she knows she wants it.

This probably makes us bad parents.

Oops.

Mother's Day

This was my very first Mother's day. We celebrated at our house with both of our mothers and my sister. I hadn't slept well the night before so I was only mildly cranky. ;)

The card my Beloved helped Alice pick out had a string of butterflies that now hang in the doorway to our hall. They're so sweet!

It was a lovely day with no drama except Alice did manage to spit up on Aunt Tami.
It was fantastic. And being the good mother that I am instead of stepping in to help - I took pictures! Of course!

I'm thankful for good mommas and I'm thankful I'm hers.

Update!

I have an update of this post.

Yep. Jinxed it.

Been sleeping with her ever since.

Good thing she's cute. ;)

Sorry I've slacked when it comes to posting. We've had a busy few weeks and I've just been exhausted. We'll try harder - I promise.

With a Sheep - Week 17

She refused to sit still for her picture today. Our girl likes to move.....a lot.

She's 33 weeks now! And she's getting so big!

She's back in her bed! She spends her day squealing loudly.

She loves her veggies and hates her naps. Naps are stupid. Foolish child.

She is strong willed and very vocal. She had a full on kicking and screaming tantrum the other night.

We're in trouble.

Already.

This will most likely jinx it......

Hallelujah! We FINALLY found the magic spell to get Little Bitty to sleep in her own bed. Her bed is now jacked up on one side, she has one of my shirts in her bed with her, the blue lights now remain on and she has a space heater. We're not sure which one is the magic ticket so we're keeping all of them.

I removed the shirt the other day to wash it and she had a fussy time going to sleep. Daniel went to check on her and came back in to the bedroom, "where is your shirt?!" I told him I wanted to wash it! He proceeded to dig through the dirty clothes for different shirt. My bad.

We have had to let her cry a few minutes. We never let her cry for more than 5 minutes and then I go in and rock her. She sniffles her way to sleep after that.

This is probably going to jinx it but we are THRILLED she's back in her bed!

Atticus is not.

With me sleeping in the baby's room, he got to sleep on the bed with his man. Now that I'm back - he's a little put out. He lays in my spot until I make him move and then he glares as if to say "I thought we got rid of you." Stupid dog.

Since I'm home he gets to spend a lot of time inside. He usually sits in the front room on the futon watching the neighbors but lately this is where I've found him....

He had the nerve to look affronted when I turned the light on to take a picture.
And he doesn't look one bit ashamed.

Seriously.

A Girl and her Puppy

Alice has started to watch things intently. One of her favorite things to watch is Atticus. She watches him and she laughs at him and talks to him! The other he walked away from her while she was talking and she screamed at him. It was hilarious.

I hope they become best buds.

With a Sheep - Week 17

She promptly threw up on this outfit right after the pictures. Yeesh.

Little Bitty is now 32 weeks old. She's much better at grabbing things - she's starting to reach for the dog. It's adorable. She's eating solids a lot better. This week we tried carrots - she likes carrots! After she eats, I give her a little bottle of water. She's trying SO HARD to make the bottle and her hands work right. ;)

And EVERYTHING goes to the mouth now. She grabbed my face the other day and tried to put my nose in her mouth. She screamed at me when I took the phone away right before she got it in her mouth. Nana had to buy her toy she wouldn't let go of at the store the other day. She's a very strong willed dramatic child.....already.

She's close to rolling over but is still not sleeping in her bed. I have high hopes.

I think she might be teething more this week. We can't feel or see any teeth but she's been rubbing her gums a lot more. We did have a bad night the other night. She screamed for almost an hour before we decided at midnight to throw her in the car and drive around. It took SEVERAL lights of screaming for her to calm down but eventually she did. It was a long night. A very long night. And I'm willing to bet we're in for more.

And then she smiles.

Until next time....
