Light

My Beloved has a very eclectic taste when it comes to decor. Very eclectic.

My Beloved likes strange lamps. Well, to me they're strange. To him - they're magnificent. They're conversation starters.

This is the lamp that started it all.
Daniel worked at a radio station in Center, Texas covering the news. On Saturday mornings he would read the garage sale report. When he got off, he'd sometimes venture out to the garage sales. By himself. With NO supervision.

One weekend I went up to visit and upon arrival, noticed this guy staring at me in the living room.

Me: What is that?
Him: Oh, I'd hope you wouldn't notice so soon. I got it at a garage sale for a good price!
Me: It has eyes!
Him: It's a piece of Americana! It's great! Want to hear the bad part? There was a set! And she sold one before I could get there! Can you believe?
Me: You mean I could have had to find a place for TWO in a house someday?!

Now our guests have to be watched as they sleep....

After we were married, we found ourselves walking through the shops in Old Town Springs. We were house shopping at the time. We're in a store and I turn around and I immediately say "crap".

My Beloved turns and his face lights up like Christmas.
These two were for sure coming home with us. I told him it would be fine as long as he bought me a house with a room for them. They're not going in the living room, our bedroom or our future child's room.

So he did. They make fabulous Library lamps.

All of the lamp shades have been replaced along with the electrical parts; I'd rather the creepy lamps not burn the house down. It's super easy to change out the inside of a lamp!

And they are conversation starters. :)

Until next time.....
