My, my, my, my Corona

This post comes from an angry place. This is your warning.

We were careful. We were mindful. We were diligent.

We have not seen the inside of a restaurant since March. We have been to extremely limited, intimate gatherings in controlled environments with the same circle of people.

We have been paranoid. We have been told we are silly for being so paranoid. We watched as people went about their lives, business as usual.

A few weeks ago we hugged a family member who has not been as diligent or closed off as we prefer. And they gave us Covid-19.

4 hours with someone within our circle and it took us out for 3 weeks.

I pulled Alice from school and transitioned her back to virtual. My Beloved and I had all the lame symptoms associated with the Rona. We are LUCKY things were not worse.

I made a Facebook post about how I felt Covid has been the worst of all the medical issues I've had to face. I caught some static for it.

"I'm pretty sure when you were in the ICU was worse, Timberley."

Do you know what I remember about my first several days in the ICU after Alice was born? Nothing. Not a darn thing.

"What about when you were dealing with your boob stuff?"

While that stuff SUCKED - I could completely function while I was going through it. It didn't knock me on my butt. I could manage my day to day responsibilities.

What was worse about having the Rona was the fact that my number 1 responsibility could not be to heal. I still had to mom and teach and work and take care of a house - while sick.

The post I made to Facebook was done wrapped in a blanket with a fever and watery eyes wearing a mask, sitting on the floor of Alice's room playing raft. Her world didn't stop because we were too sick to manage it. She was understanding but she's also a kid who is TIRED of being locked down. She is a kid who had JUST managed to go back to school with her friends but found herself locked down.....again, missing crucial classroom time.

I also got to deal with the nurse from Alice's doctor's office who spoke to me like I was so irresponsible to allow her to be exposed to the Rona. She made me feel worse on top of worse. "What are you going to do to protect her?!" What would you suggest?! Put my 8 year old up in a hotel for a few weeks?!

We did THE BEST we could to keep her safe and we are THANKFUL she seems to have missed it.

I didn't kiss or hug my kid for almost two weeks. That SUCKS.

The fear was also REAL fun, y'all.

What if we get sick enough to need to go to the hospital? What happens to Alice?

What happens if Alice gets sick enough to go to the hospital? Who would be there to sit with her?

What happens if this is something that messes with my wonky DNA and it causes me to clot? Do I just get to stroke out with my husband sick in the bed and my kid avoiding math?

On repeat in my head every day while I was still working.

My Beloved had a harder time and was down for most of it. We both cannot afford to be down at the same time with a kid in the house. That leaves me.

So yes, this was harder than all the other times I was able to prioritize healing over anything else.

I have been so angry.

I am angry we got sick. I am angry Alice missed time in the classroom. I am angry that this seems to not have made a difference in anyone's attitude about being safe during a friggin Pandemic.

I watch people post pictures from restaurants and pumpkin patches and parties and I get so very angry.

I am not willing to risk my health or my family's health again so we will remain cut off from family and friends until this is done unless I know for sure those people have been nothing but careful and masks will probably be involved.

We've had heavy discussions about what the holidays will look like this year. They will probably look a lot like lockdown but with holiday decorations.

I've heard "don't you trust God to protect you from getting sick?" I trust God to give me common sense during a pandemic and the means and dedication to not knowingly put my family at risk.

We are happy to be feeling better. We are thankful we did not require a trip to the hospital. It was touch and go with my Beloved's fever! We are even more paranoid about being around people.

I do not see the end to this any time soon because not enough people are willing to do what it takes to make it stop.

I also selfishly feel like only the naysayers should end up with it.

God and I are working on my attitude. Mostly He feels I'm a bit justified in my anger so that's where we currently are.

Until next time.....

We Survived.....Mostly

We had Meet The Teacher this past week. Hallelujah! They're letting her back in! I had a dream mid summer that the director called and said they prayed about it and felt like Alice just didn't fit into their program. I woke up in a panic. However, her teachers were happy to see her. She will be in the class she was in on Wednesday's last year (and for most of May after the biting incident) so while some of the kids will be new, her teachers remained the same. I am so very thankful. I have complete confidence in these teachers. I hope they have a good year.

And I am so thankful she's going back next Tuesday. SO! THANKFUL!

I LOVE our child, however, I am ready for a break. She is busy, spirited, LOUD, dramatic and determined. And we have been at a battle of wills for the past few weeks. If this is 3 - I'm not going to make it to 4. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel at all. The dog and I need a vacation. We have been her only playmates for most of the summer and we are SPENT.

We didn't manage to master potty training. I'm hoping that watching the other kids at school will encourage her more. I've decided after we are through this box of diapers, I'm not buying anymore. Lord, be with us. She asks to go but it's usually after she has already gone in her diaper. Sometimes she's super excited about getting on the potty, however, other times it looks like it will be a battle. I'm not physically fighting with my child to get her on the potty. I think it's counterproductive. We shouldn't be miserable and I don't want a fight every time we go to the potty.

The new battle this week has been getting into her car seat because all of a sudden she thinks she's grown and can ride in the front seat. It is a screaming battle every time I put her in the car. We do not tolerate fits. When she has a tantrum at home - she is sent to her room until she calms down. Every time. However, when we're getting into the car, that's not an option. She screams bloody murder, I scream bloody murder and we fight until she's in her seat. It's so very frustrating.

Then I feel like the worst mom in the world because I was so horribly impatient with her. It breaks my heart that I've had to yell but I am just so at a loss that I can't see any other option. I feel like Reese Witherspoon's character on Sweet Home Alabama, "why do you make me be mean to you?!"

Why must a yell for her to HEAR?! For her to OBEY?!

Kids. They break you.

Our 7th wedding anniversary is on Monday so in an effort to give us some alone time and me a break, she is spending a few days with Nana. We had such a horrible afternoon yesterday that I cried for an hour after she left mainly because I felt like I NEEDED to be away from her and that made me feel like a colossal failure.

I know I'm not. But still, you feel how you feel.

I know once school starts and there's a break and a routine, things will settle. I know as she gets older, boundaries will be pushed and we will need to adjust. I know lessons will need to be learned.

And I know I will find joy in her silliness and her imagination and her happiness. Because she is a very happy kid. Even on days she's fussy and difficult, she's mostly happy.

Yesterday I frustratingly sent her away and today I miss her.

We'll end on a happy note because while this week I am tired, I am ALWAYS proud to be her mom.

Last week we took a sheep picture. I don't post them here as often but I still post them once a month on Facebook. We look at old sheep pictures and she wants to do what Baby Alice is doing. She's grown a bit....

Seriously.

She'll be three in less than a month. This one snuck up on me.

With school starting next week, I will hopefully have more time to blog.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Until next time.....

All for Naught

Today I got an email informing me my certification program will no longer be offered at the school I am currently registered for classes in due to the career no longer being a 'viable career option.' The program I was 4 classes away from finishing.

And just like that everything we had planned crumbled.

Now I feel like I wasted a year of school on classes I won't ever use or translate to anything I can use.

Now I have to accept that I will have to work outside of the home. I will have a commute. Alice will go to day care. And that's only IF I can find a job.

What do I have to offer? Who will hire me?! I've done nothing but chase a toddler around for the last two and half years.

The doubt and fear is overwhelming.

How could I have been SO wrong? I was told it was a great opportunity! I felt it was where I needed to focus!

And now I am lost.

I'm sad for plans that will never happen. I am heartbroken that a vision we had is no more. Plans we had as a family will have to change. And that breaks my heart.

I am embarrassed that I was so excited for something that now means nothing. I now have to tell people that I went to school for nothing. Those plans I was so happy to talk about are all over. I should have just kept it all to myself. But that's not who I am. That's not what I did.

And now I have to tell people I was wrong. And that stinks. I was SO SURE!!! And yet.

I have to tell people that I'm back to not knowing what I want to do when I grow up. Back to being unsure.

And that just sucks.

I'm also mad. Mad for not being advised differently. I'm mad that they weren't going to tell me - I had to ask.

I'm frustrated because I should have known better. If it sounds to good to be true....

I asked my Beloved if I should avoid blogging about it. He encouraged me to; he said it's my process and it'll help me work through my emotions. And he's right. And he's super supportive and I love him a lot.

And while the train is derailed for now, hopefully we'll find the right track soon.

Until then, I'll keep singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider and sharing ice cream with our girl. Hopefully something will make sense soon.

Until next time.....

March Sadness

Let me tell you, I have high hopes for April because March SUCKED.

Disclaimer - this post is going to be LONG and this post is going to be full of lots of girly TMI so, boys, skip down to the bottom. You've been warned. For reals.

First - it rained THE ENTIRE MONTH. Like, every day. Poured. We were worried the sun had been stolen and that we would never be happy again.

And the TMI starts now.....

I have had super screwy periods since being on the blood thinners and they come often, like more than one a month. My uterus hates me with a passion and it lets me know as often as it can. And this month started with the worst period I have ever had in my life. The. Worst. (see boys, I warned you!) It lasted two full weeks of nothing but the heaviest bleeding possible. I had to change clothes a few times a day for two full weeks - it was bad. And also completely embarrassing and MORTIFYING. I didn't want to leave the house. I cried a lot out of frustration. I looked in to black-market hysterectomies.

I also had a ton of annual doctor appointments to tend to so not leaving the house wasn't an option. While at the Ophthalmologist, my graceful self hits the handle of a chair and leaves a MASSIVE bruise on my thigh. Go me. This was my testing day - I have to go in for testing twice a year for Glaucoma and to make sure my autoimmune meds aren't messing up my eyes. After the test, the technician says the doctor should be calling. I tell her I have an exam with her in a few weeks but she says "she'll probably be calling you anyway." Enter Freak Mode. Turns out I didn't need to worry, all the tests came back normal. So the fretting for two weeks was for nothing. Thanks.

We had a wedding in the Austin area to attend mid month. I still wasn't sure if I should go - see TMI paragraph above and also two legs covered in bruises - but we went. Girly issues slowed down FINALLY and we had a nice time! I did have some lower back pain after our first night. I blamed this on a bad hotel bed and needing an hour with my masseuse bff Lzata. However, Monday morning at around 2am, I woke up in such pain in my left lower abdomen, I couldn't sit still. Nothing helped. No position alleviated the hurt. I finally woke Daniel up and told him I was going to the ER to rule out a kidney stone. For the record, I have NEVER had a kidney stone and as far as I know, there isn't any family history of it either. So in-spite of his concerns, I drove myself to the neighborhood ER. "What if it's just gas!? I don't want you to wake the baby for gas!" I get to the ER, they put me in the room, give me some meds and do a CT. The ER doc says ovarian cyst - I say kidney stone. Turns out we're both right. Again, go me. I do tell them I am on blood thinners and they take my INR. My therapeutic magic number is 2.0. My ER INR is 7.9. Oops.

So my ER doctor calls my Hematologist and I get to ride in an ambulance to the hospital. None of this is on my bucket list. At least the paramedic thought I was a treat. He asked why I was going to the hospital for a kidney stone and I told him my INR was a little high. He flipped my chart and took the Lord's name in vain, "a little high!?" Yep - that's how I roll.

I'm admitted with a Coumadin overdose. Seriously.

They run some tests, I have to pee into a strainer, and I get a good dose of Vitamin K to counteract the blood thinners.  Nobody knows why my INR is so high, however, it does explain the horrible period and the horrible bruising. And after a chat with my hematologist, I discover that my prescription was wrong. I usually take two 5mg pills daily only the last time I picked up my pills, they gave me 10mg but I didn't notice. I was taking twice the amount I needed. Yes, that would do it. (My doctor has since called to apologize for this mix up and assures me it's not my fault and she isn't going to fire me as a patient. Bless her.)

I am also treated to both an external and internal pelvic ultrasound. This after the pelvic exam I had in the ER. Fun times! The ultrasound shows I have passed one kidney stone but I have another one waiting in my kidney. Yay! It also shows the cyst isn't anything to worry about. I come home with meds and instructions and an invitation to meet with my new Urologist in about six months. I collect 'ologists' - it's like, my thing.

I come home late Tuesday night. Monday was Travis's 21st birthday. We had big plans. We were going to go out to the Rodeo and he was going to buy me a drink. This after I turned in my research paper I had ready a week and a half early but would now be late. Why do I even make plans!? Wednesday, I take Alice - who is on Spring Break - up to the school so I can turn in my paper. Thursday, we head to Nana's, however, halfway there I start to feel bad.The pain gets so bad, Travis has to drive me to CVS to pick up my meds and then home while Nana watches Alice.

I am thankful for my first kidney stone - it brought me to the ER before I unknowingly bled out from a blood thinner overdose. However, the second kidney stone seems a little unnecessary if I'm being honest. Uncalled for, if you will. One got my attention - two was just rude.

Now I get to see my Hematologist weekly until my numbers are back to normal. With my INR being so low, I get extra worried about blood clots. My leg hurts and I panic. Blood clots terrify me. I had my yearly well-woman scheduled for last week (third pelvic exam this month - I should get an award or more wine) and I had to go over all the stuff that happened the week before. I had a complete meltdown in the office. I don't know why this happens. Maybe it's all the pregnant women projecting their hormones on to me. Regardless, I cry almost every time I'm there. Every. Time. One day, they might medicate me. She tells me my leg looks a little poofy and I sob the entire way home.

It's a clot. I just know it.

I call my hematology office and let the nurse know I'm freaking out. She tells the doctor, I get to visit with her again. She ordered an ultrasound and we spent ALL DAY at the hospital waiting for it. It came back clean. Thankfully.

We closed out this glorious month with this weekend where Alice all of a sudden out of nowhere spikes a 102.9 fever while we're visiting Papa and Mawmaw. She got to skip school yesterday just to be on the safe side.

We did have some nice times. My Beloved and I had spring break together so we got to have some day dates! And the road trip with the family was fun.

But I'm real happy to see it over. I ended the month the way I started, with cramps. See, the uterus, it hates me. I'm hoping April is better; hopefully without the showers though. March rained enough!

Fingers crossed we're looking towards the light.

Until next time......

Stupid Monday

Today was a long, long day.

I think I say that a lot these days however it's all true. Today looked a lot like this.

She needed some Mommy and Me time so I laid down on her bedroom floor, using her big frog as a pillow. She proceeded to crawl all over me and pull my hair. After several minutes, I just gave up and sat up. She immediately laid her head down on the frog as if to say "mine!" Oiy vey.

She's in to EVERYTHING. And she's SUPER fast. She KNOWS when she's doing something she's not supposed to because she cocks her little eyebrow like 'look what I'm doing!' Seriously. She's not even 2!

I'm not sure I'm going to make it. ;)

By the evening I was spent. S.P.E.N.T.

My Beloved in knee deep in playoffs and had to work most of the weekend on events. This means he's home late and the weekend was a lot of me and baby. Momma needs a break.

As I'm cooking supper, she disappears. I find her in our bedroom like this.

That's a pair of underwear around her neck and those are her safety clippers in her mouth.

S.P.E.N.T.

I've been at this job for over a year now, surely I've earned some vacation time..... ;)

Then I feel guilty because I only have one. Some mothers have more!! THEY need vacations too!!

Maybe one day.......

Today's picture was 'vegetable' but with the day we've had, I'm reusing a picture from a few days ago.
I LOVE peas. My Beloved HATES peas. Alice LOVES them. So, Alice and I have them for lunch a lot. It's a win win. ;)

Step 1

So, our child might be a hillbilly.

Step 1 in the process is acceptance, right?

I've mentioned her lack of love of shoes before.

I ordered some Robeez based on some suggestions from other parents. They arrived today.

Yep. She hates those too.

Complete 'ugly cry' meltdown.

God is laughing. I'm sure of it.

Apparently there is something in the sole of a shoe that sucks out a piece of the soul and Alice recognizes it for what it is and refuses to let it get her.

At least that's what I'm telling myself.

It can't be that she hates shoes. It just can't be.....

Here is the 'abstract'ish  of the shoe for the RAP challenge .

They're cute! What's not to love?!

Apparently everything,

Except the box it came in. That's fun.

And she doesn't mind chewing on them! They're delicious!

Oiy vey.

Here is our fridge for KIR.

We have a very colorful fridge covered in people we love. We have lots of babies on the fridge! Some are not babies anymore but that's okay. We have graduation announcements, thank you cards, pictures and a postcard from the Young One. We also have a noodle drawing Tami did for me while she was in high school. One day we will have to make room for Alice's art. I'm excited about that!

Until next time......

Secret

There isn't a day that goes by I don't worry I'm failing her. There isn't a day that goes by I don't worry I'm failing my Beloved.

The house isn't as clean as I think it should be with me home all day. The baby isn't always agreeable and my patience level is less than desirable. Dinner isn't always ready on time. Sometimes I forget to pick up something at the store. There is almost always laundry in the dryer. Sometimes for days. When I'm tired - I'm CRANKY. And we've had some long nights lately!

And I feel defeated. Completely defeated. I want to give up. Maybe I'm not cut out for this. Maybe it's time to go back to work.

Then I feel foolish.

My struggles aren't half as bad as some. My trials barely count as trials.

So what the baby got stuck in the laundry room for the 4th time today?
(I mean, seriously. 4 times. At least she wasn't eating the coke box or playing in the dog bowl.)

She's healthy. She's happy. She plays. She laughs. She has CRAZY hair.
I can't manage my own hair. What am I supposed to do with that?!

And I have a fantastic husband who loves me no matter how much I doubt. No matter how many times I express my fears of incompetency. No matter how many tears I shed.

He still loves me. He still thinks I'm doing a good job.

And I'd be lost without him.

But that's no secret. ;)

Until next time.....

Corner

This is what our street corner looks like right now....

It's lovely.

Not really.

And I got another notice from the City.

Guess what it said?!

If you guessed our water will be "interrupted" again on Thursday, you guessed right!!

Another trip to Nana's for us.

Yeesh.

Sometimes....

...I question every decision (career wise) I've made.

Did I make the right choices? Am I where I should be? Should I have left in the first place?

This is usually after visits to old haunts. Haunts I miss. Haunts I mostly enjoyed! Haunts with people I still enjoy being around. Haunts I sometimes hate not being a part of.

However, every decision I've ever made led to a major realization.

Leaving the Rodeo and the best boss ever taught me that there are bad bosses out there. And they suck. A lot. But by moving on to the new job, I also learned that I could do it!! I was a pretty good producer! And I missed writing.

And when that job went away, it was a good thing. Because while I needed to know I COULD do it, I didn't really need to forever. 4am calls also suck. A lot. ;)

And then I got a new job that I could exercise my organizational skills but that was about it. And I learned that's not for me. I NEED creativity to keep going. If not, I'm miserable.

And then we had Alice and staying home with her has been the best thing ever.

And then the fear sets in. All the same fears that come with finding a job.

What will I do when I go back to work? Who will hire me?! What will I be qualified to do?! NOTHING! Chase a kid and change diapers! That's it!!

All the self doubt creeps in and I can't help but feel defeated.

And then I get to spend an hour like this.

And I just don't care.

Nothing else matters.

It doesn't matter I have nothing else to talk about. It doesn't matter that I'm not a part of something huge.

SHE thinks I am. She thinks I hung the moon.

And sometimes, that's all I need to remember.

Until next time.....

Bad news, Mamaw

This is what our September looks like.

It's a little overwhelming.

AND I have to figure out where I can squeeze a trip to the Dentist in because I'm pretty sure I have a cavity (or two).

So I'm taking the month of from the daily pictures. I'll still blog! Maybe not every day but I'll still post.

I just need a break. So after tomorrow's picture, I'm tapping out. It'll be okay.

Until next time.....

Days like today....

....make me want to crawl back in to bed with the lights off....fill the bathtub with hot water and stay in until my Beloved gets home....put the baby and the dog on the front stoop with a "free!" sign.....open a bottle (or two) of wine with breakfast - is raisin bran a white or a red kind of cereal?...look for a job and price childcare....run out of the house screaming....eat a lot of ice cream....with wine....

First, I was rocking her back to sleep at 3am this morning after she woke up crying.

Then she woke up earlier than usual.

This is what happens when you wake up earlier than usual.

Mommy dresses you like a Hot Mess.

Then she bit my toe. And laughed.

Yesterday she pinched my arm so hard it bruised. She might be cute but I'm pretty sure she's out to get me.

And she's refused to nap longer than 30 minutes all day. Which makes her look like this....
See. Wine would be lovely.

But then you know what she does?! She smiles.
And you can't help but smile back.

Dadgum babies....

By the way - she's under my chair again, chewing on the checkbook.

I'm pretty sure I have ice cream......

A Tired Perspective

I'm not sleeping.

It's awesome.

Not.

It's not anything keeping me up but me.

I'm not sure what I'm worried about but it has to be something.

So I'm not taking today's picture.

My "perspective" is bleak so I'll share a funny picture instead.

She thinks my Stella and Dot bag is DELICIOUS!

August is going to be a busy month so I'm not planning on doing the daily pictures. I'll still post! Just maybe not every day.

And I'm hoping for some sleep. I want to be the best for her but I can't be when I'm so beat down.

Hopefully rest will come tonight.

Until next time....

Building

Since my referral experience with my current doctor has not improved, we decided I needed to switch my PCP.

A new doctor.

My favorite.

So we called and switched and made an appointment with the doctor my Beloved sees.

I print up the doctors I needed referrals for and a very condensed version of my medical history along with my daily meds. I'm down to three now!! HOLLA!!

We meet with the doctor and it's the easiest exchange I've had with a doctor so far. Hopefully it holds up! ;)

They take my list of doctors and will hopefully have the referrals sent off soon. Fingers crossed.

Until next time....

Daily Routine

I change diapers.

I mix bottles.

I warm up peas.

I do laundry. (Sometimes not daily)

I sweep up dog hair. Lots. (I don't do this daily but I should. Especially since I got my new dust pan. HOLLA!)

We nap.

We bathe.

I try to blog.

And even when it's tedious. Even when it's trying. Even when it's hard. Even though we occasionally have a fussy baby. Even when I'm convinced I've made the wrong decision and I want to run away and hide. Even when I think I'm a horrible mother/housekeeper/pet parent/wife....I'm thankful I'm here.

I'm thankful I won't miss the first word (hopefully it will be baby book appropriate). I won't miss first steps. I settle her when she's upset. I see her smile and listen to her screech all day. And I'm just so thankful.

I'm thankful she's healthy and growing and ours.

I'm thankful my Beloved encourages me and loves me no matter how much I doubt myself.

Until next time....

Ain't Nobody got time for THAT!

Couldn't have said it better myself, Sweet Brown!

Yeesh.

So I've managed to probably break my foot. I'm not sure how! But I'm pretty sure I did.

And it didn't help that I spent the weekend walking on it (and possibly dancing) at the wedding. It's not discolored just swollen and painful. My sweet In Laws brought me a boot. You see - I'm TOTALLY over doctors and I'm currently refusing to go to one. What are they going to tell me?! After a copay and ex-rays and probably being sent to a specialist for ANOTHER copay and MORE ex-rays - they're going to tell me it's a stress fracture and to wear a boot. I'm skipping all that stuff and just wearing a boot.

Oh yeah - talk about SEXY! ~ said no one ever.

So I'm clunking around the house like Quasimodo trying my best to not wake the FINALLY sleeping baby. I feel like I'm stuck in that ghost story from our childhood where you hear a 'thump, thump, dragggggg' before you get your face scrapped off.

Yep - that's me!

Oiy vey.

And I'm not sure what we've done to Little Bitty but she refuses to sleep in her bed again. She falls asleep and I put her in her bed and within 10 minutes she wakes up SCREAMING. It's not the usual "come and get me, I woke up and I'm bored" cry - it's the "someone is killing me, come save me" cry. And it takes about 30 minutes of her sniffling to get her to calm down. And sleeping with her is not ideal.

Momma needs a nap....or three.

I'm praying for some extra patience because I'm pretty sure it's too early for wine.....

Day 11 - Entrance

I'm not so good at this 'homemaker' stuff yet.

I went to the store yesterday with a list of items for meals I'm going to put together only to get home and realize I left a few items off my list. And I realized I bought the wrong items of some items.

Blah.

So today, Little Bitty and I ran to the store....by ourselves....for the first time....in the rain.

She takes up a lot of cart space. ;)

I found a blog on Pinterest with recipes for freezer meals I'm going to put together. 10 meals in 2 hours - sounds doable!

Only now Pinterest is down and I can't get to the pin.

Blah.

Story of my life.

Until next time....

Day 9 - Guilty Pleasure

I had no plans to grow attached to any new stories. However, I've been home with some time on my hands so mom let me borrow her first season of Supernatural saying it was worth the watch.

Fast forward about a week and I'm through all 7 seasons.

And then I find out the series is still going!

I'm caught up - no more DVD's without commercials. No more gag reels. I have to WAIT to find out how Dean gets out of Purgatory! I have to watch things LIVE!!! GROSS!!!

There are several people to blame for this issue.

It starts with Travis' friend Sam who introduced the series to him who then introduced it to mom who then introduced it to Tami....

So basically we blame Sam.

Until next time...

To the Left - in Pictures!

Let me start by saying that had I had my left arm done first - the right arm would have never been fixed. The left arm has been a trial - from start to finish. I'm still waiting on the finish. Yes. A trial.

But I promised pictures so here you go.

Ready to go! I arrived at 10am like I was told. This is about 2pm. I'm STARVING.

Nurse #3 had no problem at all finding a vein. Bless her.

Ice to keep the swelling down, a knitting needle to help with the itching and a cuddly dog to help me heal.
Shower Items: Giant Cow Inseminating Gloves and Painters tape to secure it. Oh joy, oh delight! This is after the wrap came off. Apparently my left arm is allergic to the surgical tape. It's still red and itchy by the way. And apparently, my left nerve was more 'sensitive' than my right nerve. It's not handling being man handled very well. I still have little feeling in my first and third finger and have absolutely NO feeling in my middle finger. The Doctor did a poky test and seems to think the nerve isn't dead - just really angry. Lovely. I'm typing this with my pinkie - no fun. I get to go to Physical Therapy at the end of the week, maybe that will help.

Here's hoping the finish line is in sight...

Until next time...

Day 9 - Someone I love

So my Beloved refused to be photographed this morning and since I don't live with anyone else I simply adore, I went with Judy. Atti comes up later. And if I'm being honest, trying to chose between my loved ones would cause me great guilt. So Judy it is!

I LOVE Judy. Last month I was careless and caused her great pain. She had to have major reconstructive surgery and a butt lift. And after a month of being apart, I have her back!

This is what I did to my Judy.

And this is my Judy today!!
She still carries a few scars. Daniel said "she's been in an accident, she's never going to be perfect." My poor baby car.

Luckily scars are pretty cool.

Until next time....

Day 8 - A Bad Habit

Being honest stinks sometimes but Day 8 is all about a bad habit so here goes....

I have developed a Potty Mouth. In my defense, this wasn't a problem until I worked at my previous job! But that's no excuse. And I'm working on it.

In Jr. High, it's kind of cool to cuss. You're not really a kid anymore and it's so grown up! Our theater teacher caught us cussing once and said if we couldn't think of a more creative way to express ourselves, we didn't belong in the theater. And that stuck with me! I got through Jr. High, High School, College! and 6 years in Production before I started to sound like a sailor. It's so not Lady Like!

But at my previous Big Girl Job, I was surrounded by it every day and it just became a little easier. And now I'm trying to undo it.

How's that for honesty?

Until next time...
