Patronas vs. Patronus

My Boss was in all week last week which is unusual. While sitting in his office, we have the following conversation:

Him: Have you ever heard of Patronas?
Me: Sure - it's the spell used to repel Dementors.
Him: *look of utter confusion.
Me: You can also send messages with it. Harry's is a Stag.
Him: *still baffled* WHAT?! It's an Oil Company.
Me: (mumbly) Maybe in the Muggle world. Yeesh.
