Her stroller/car seat combo is the best thing ever.
We spent HOURS at Babies R Us trying out strollers and car seats. We got a lot of suggestions however we wanted to check things out our self.
At the time it, I was having major hand and wrist issues and we knew chances were it was only going to get worse. We tried several strollers that you twisted the handle to close and every one killed my hands.
We looked at the usual typical huge bulky travel systems. They were SO heavy! There was NO WAY I was going to be able to lift the stroller in to the back of my car by myself. Ever. And I wasn't strong enough to close the thing. So that was out.
We looked at the car seats that grow from infant to toddler and stay in the car. I didn't like the idea of not having a way to carry her in even if she was heavy. I didn't like the thought of having to hold her in a restaurant or store.
Then we looked at the click and go options. Brilliant. They were easy to lift, easy to move from car to car with the extra bases and easy to get in and out. We found one in orange we liked. Car seat done!
When we found the car seat we looked at their click and go stroller options. This one was SUPER easy to fold. I can fold it one handed and put it the car with no trouble at all. It folds small enough to fit under a table and the seat clicks in super fast.
We talked about the fact we might not use this combo very long considering she would grow out of it soon.
However we found ourselves in the NICU having to make sure the car seat was rated for babies under 5 pounds.
When Little Bitty came home, she weighed just over 4 pounds and was on an Apnea monitor that had to go everywhere she went. This combo made it SO easy. She got to go everywhere we did and the monitor didn't stick out.
We're 7 months in and she's still using it. And now that she's heavier, the stroller is even more handy.
I'm grateful my Beloved insisted on spending hours searching for the perfect stroller. I'm thankful for Karen, Jack and Nana for getting it for us. And I'm thankful I have it because weekly visits to my doctor and the walk through the parking garage would be torture without it.
Until next time....
