As in 'how do I get to the center of this thing?!'
My Beloved doesn't trust me around super sharp knives so he cut it for me.
I decided since now I get to stay home, I'd try my hand at making baby food. This baffles my Beloved who wonders why I would go to all the trouble when Gerber does it for us. This was until he discovered there's not much of an option when it comes to veggies. She's still only on vegetables because I'm not ready for her to start fruit. Fruit is too yummy. The books lists foods she can try only they don't jar them! And I'm being totally reasonable and only making the foods you can't buy. I like the portability of the jarred veggies. And I KNOW she'll eat them.
So we bought the veggies and spent the day steaming and smashing!
We have Acorn Squash, Butternut Squash, Broccoli, Asparagus & Zucchini.
This might not sound like a lot - but it's a start!
They're frozen in ice cubes and ready to go!
And she's probably not going to like any of it. We tried Avocado and she gagged and shivered. It was so stinking cute. ;) It's the first item she hasn't been able to handle. We'll try again in a few weeks.
I have to say - I was pretty proud of myself! And I was super sore! Standing in a kitchen all day is exhausting. ;)
Until next time...
