Day 5 - Into The Woods

Back in the car.....again and we've had more than enough sibling bonding time. WAY more than enough.

As a family we head out to Muir Woods to check out the Redwood trees. We pile into the car and drive for what seems like forever. The Martin children are once again in the backseat and we're all good and cranky. Our adventure takes us through San Fransisco and up very curvy roads with VERY steep cliffs. Surviving the drive, we search for parking. Apparently the same 4000 people at the Aquarium were now joining us for our trip through the trees. We end up parking in Oregon...I think, and proceed toward the entrance. I have to be honest, we had grand ideas. We thought there would be trees to drive through, nope. Apparently that would have required more time in the car - a lot more time. So the family bundles up because it's freakin' cold in the woods and head out on the trail. And it's always amazing to me the creativity of our God.
After our hike, we're hungry so we get back in car and head to Sonoma for some wine and food. I got to sit next to Travis again - like this...he would be the blob.
We reach BEAUTIFUL Sonoma, spent some time shopping, tasted some wine and had a lovely meal together as a family. We might fight, we might make each other crazy but we always have fun and we always love.

I'm thankful we had the time together and I'm grateful for a much needed break. And the best part of any trip is coming home. :) But even that was an adventure....
